Big Flower

Isn't this quite the flower? It was at the Smith College Mums show. It looks kind of edible. I have been think about the huge role comedy plays in my life. I want it in my work more. Like I want my work to have beauty and elegance and ridiculousness. Just real silliness. I think for a long time I have seen that quality in my work, but I couldn't quite name it. I thought of it as a kind of "funkiness" or "crappiness." What it really is is humor, and I want to push that quality more. I want to let the silliness arive in the work more and more.
